Alpura Centralized Data and Deployed More Than 250 AI Agents in 120 Days
Alpura completed a technology-infrastructure project that brought seven previously separate operational and data platforms into a single cloud-based system. The company also launched more than ten specialised applications and deployed over 250 internal AI agents during the 120-day implementation.
The agents let employees query corporate systems through natural-language chat interfaces. They can combine information such as stock levels by postal code and regional consumption patterns, while data-governance, cataloguing and access-control tools regulate the information used in the analysis.
The system incorporates data from internet-connected devices and is used to identify potential bottlenecks at distribution centres and retail outlets. Alpura said the centralised information also supports financial and sales reports with greater detail and gives commercial and operational teams faster access to analytical data.
The new architecture changed the way Alpura connects with strategic retail partners. The company integrated with Walmart’s technology ecosystem in about two weeks, allowing the partners to produce joint predictive models for demand and projected sales over a two-year period. Alpura said the models are intended to reduce waste in perishable products and improve product availability on shop shelves.
Centralising the data has also shortened the internal work involved in researching, developing and introducing new dairy products, according to the company. Alpura plans to extend the systems to end-to-end traceability, including information that would identify the farm and dairy-producing region where milk originated.
The company also plans to apply predictive models to additional stages of milk collection and factory processing. The project forms part of Alpura’s use of artificial-intelligence tools and data-management systems in its Mexican dairy operations.
