Agrocomplex plans to increase milk production by 30% in five years
‘In 2020, we increased milk production by 41 thousand tons (this is 15%), bringing the annual gross production to 312 thousand tons,’ said Alexander Kvashin. ‘This year, it is planned to invest about 700 million rubles in the dairy cattle industry. This will allow us to increase the dairy herd by a thousand animals by the end of the year. According to the plan, the gross milk production will increase by about 25 thousand tons.’
"Within five years, in accordance with the strategy for the development of the cattle industry, we should reach an average milk yield of more than 10 thousand liters per cow, and increase gross production to 400 thousand tons,’ he added.
According to Alexander Kvashin, the number of cattle at Agrocomplex is 101 thousand animals, including 36 thousand forage-fed cows. The holding operates 70 farms, including 50 dairy farms, 15 farms for growing young animals and 5 feedlots. ‘Over the past ten years, the increase in the dairy herd was only due to its own reproduction,’ said the Deputy General Director. ‘According to the strategy, we are going through the improvement of technologies, reconstruction and modernization of existing farms with an increase in livestock and annually invest funds for this purpose.’
The plan for the development of the cattle industry includes, among other things, work on the breeding process aimed at increasing productivity through genetics, automation and the introduction of digitalization systems in herd management, feeding control, and logistics in dairy cattle breeding.
